As for your screen, a 16-bit (or higher) color setting is recommended, as the image quality won't look so hot on 256 colors. Miscrosoft's Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher works best with KC, but Netscape Navigator 4.0 and higher has also been tested and works just fine, too.
